New name. Same goal.

When I started this business over five years ago, it was just me, one studio space, and the idea of helping couples feel more comfortable and confident during one of the most memorable moments of their wedding day — their first dance.

Back then, calling it “Wedding Dance Lessons by Amanda” made perfect sense. It was personal. It was clear. And it reflected exactly what I was doing: teaching couples how to move together with confidence.

I’ve had the honor of teaching hundreds of couples — guiding them from nervous first steps in the studio to unforgettable dances in front of family and friends. Along the way, something beautiful happened: this business started to feel bigger than just me.

Why the Change?

A few years ago, I welcomed an associate instructor, Sarah, to the team. Sarah is an incredible teacher, and together we’ve been able to help even more couples create those “wow” wedding day moments. At the same time, we’ve expanded beyond just the first dance. We’ve choreographed anniversary dances, mother + son/father + daughter dances, and even taught at a bachelorette event.

It became clear: what started with just me has grown into something bigger. It’s now a shared effort, and it deserves a name that reflects that growth, collaboration, and the future we see ahead.

Introducing: First Dance Tampa

Our new name is short, modern, and easy to remember — but more importantly, it captures the heart of what we do. For most couples, the first dance is more than choreography. It’s a moment to connect and remember why you chose each other in the first place. In a wedding industry that feels bigger, and louder than ever, with what can seem like endless to-do lists, our lessons create space to pause, be present, and truly take it all in.

Including “Tampa” in our name keeps things personal and local — a reminder that we’re rooted in this amazing city, not a chain studio. Just like Tampa itself, your dance will be vibrant, memorable, and one of a kind.

What’s Next

The new part? We’re saying yes to more than just first dances. From bachelorette events to wedding party routines (or even a surprise performance with your crew), we love helping you bring your people into the fun.

And because this little business keeps growing, our team might too. More instructors means more availability, fresh ideas, and more couples getting to experience how fun learning to dance together can be.

Here’s to growing, celebrating, and dancing with you all!

XO, Amanda
